I would like to introduce you to wizz-e.com, an online publisher of children’s picture books – both original titles and reinventions of traditional tales. We bring the books to life through animated illustrations, read along to the audio as the words highlight or click on a word to hear it spoken for emerging independent readers.

Each book comes with a comprehension/recall quiz to check  understanding and engagement with the story. Our aim is to bring reading materials to young kids to foster a love of books and reading by making it fun. As you know the more exposure a child has to reading the more their literacy levels improve. This is a way of making screen time educational and fun.

We have spent approximately a month, playing around on the wizz-e.com website.  Well, I should say that my son, Thaddeus, has been doing this.  Thaddeus is 4 years old and will be starting school next year so we thought this was a great opportunity to get him into reading.  He loves stories being read to him and can even read them back to you if he’s heard them enough, obviously not word for word.  With the wizz-e.com website, he’s able to start seeing words and hearing what they sound like.

I really do like the website and would recommend it to everyone who has young children.  One of the first things my husband said about it after watching Thaddeus with it was how he could see spending money on something like this, and I agree.  It’s a great way to teach your children to read and have entertainment at the same time.  There are several books you can chose from their bookstore and there are a couple games your children can play.  You always have access to the books you purchase and you can even download the books to your computer.
