The novel is about four old men in a nursing home who, sick of the neglect and abuse, conspire to overthrow the system. Robert Karpie is issuing a wake-up call to Americans to remember the power of the people. “It is our duty to question authority and demand answers. We should not fear our government-they should fear us. We the people!”

Using the latest swine flu scare as an example, Karpie urges Americans to get the facts behind what the government promotes. He questions the government’s use of scare tactics, by labeling the spread of the N1H1 virus an “imminent pandemic,” and reports that US government health officials are planning to spend up to $2 billion for 160 million doses of flu vaccine for the fall of 2009/winter of 2010. But in 1976, several elderly people died shortly after being inoculated against a similar virus, and eventually, the government suspended the program after inoculating 40 million people for a flu that never came.

Historically, government has had a tendency to hold mankind back as a whole, through politics, religion, and science, as lobbyists corrupt morals. To add insult to injury, it’s outrageous when much of our so-called free press-mainstream media-steers, persuades, preaches, promotes, and instills governmental policies via fear tactics, ridicule, disinformation, conjecture, propaganda, and censorship by ownership as “knowledge is power.” Unfortunately, power corrupts-and absolute power corrupts
absolutely.

Social Security is dramatic, provocative, a little obscene, and educational through a historical review. It’s also funny, bittersweet, and a bit violent, much like life itself. Bob wrote it to STIMULATE your brain, connect the dots; so to speak and make you think. Ultimately, Social Security is but a Wake-up Call. Frankly, the system itself is consuming the consumers. We are becoming slaves economically as our Individual Rights & Freedoms are cannibalized from within by own government; an Immaculate Deception. If the novel inspires the reader to sit up and vow to get involved, take a stand, or demand answers, so much the better. As Robert Karpie says, “When ignorance is ignored, stupidity is justified.”

Bear in mind this book was begun before the H1N1 news stories and the author reminds us that in 1976 when chicken little news stories of the swine flu, were common and after 40 million people were vaccinated, we then read about those who had died because of the vaccine and that no such swine flu pandemic ever happened.

The Author does a good job of blending reality within a fictional novel. In my opinion, what you take from this book depends on what generation you come from, as well as, what your own personal political beliefs are. Robert’s writings are meant to stimulate your brain, and he has succeeded in that respect.
