Fearless is being Released today, September 8, 2009.
Each sunrise seems to bring fresh reasons for fear.
They’re talking layoffs at work, slowdowns in the economy, flare-ups in the Middle East, turnovers at headquarters, downturns in the housing market, upswings in global warming. The plague of our day, terrorism, begins with the word terror. Fear, it seems, has taken up a hundred-year lease on the building next door and set up shop. Oversized and rude, fear herds us into a prison of unlocked doors. Wouldn’t it be great to walk out?
Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision a day, just one day, where you could trust more and fear less.
Can you imagine your life without fear?
In Fearless Imagine Your Life Without Fear, it deals with the fact that we all experience fear. Everything from your child falling and getting hurt, to terrorism threats, and bankruptcy. Unfortunately, our lives have not escaped these everyday challenges. Fearless gives you the tools to take your fears and transform them into faith, courage, and hope!
I really like this quote:
Fear will always knock on your door. Just don’t invite it in for dinner. And for heaven’s sake, don’t offer it a bed for the night.
Basically, take another avenue and channel your fears into faith! You’ll be amazed at the outlook you will have! This doesn’t mean that the stress and fear will miraculously disappear from your daily lives. However, you will be able to hand over your burdens to God more readily, instead of carrying the load on your own.
This book is very well written. You feel like your talking to a good friend offering an option to all the major doom and gloom floating around these days. It’s not a preachy book, but gets the important points across, while flowing gracefully well. It does have great scripture references to life’s circumstances, and also references to biblical times for a greater understanding.
Chapters include:
*Why Are We Afraid
*My Child Is In Danger
*I’m Sinking Fast
*There’s A Dragon in My Closet
*This Brutal Planet
*Scared To Death
*What If Things Get Worse?
In the back of the book there is an awesome discussion guide that can be used by individuals or groups, which covers three lessons:
*Examining fear
*Exposing fear
*Battling fear
Fearless is a book you’ll want to keep handy, and refer back to it frequently. It really will uplift you in many ways!
